DO YOU KNOW JESUS? We are not referring to a religion, but a person - the person called Jesus Christ. The Bible, God’s Word to humanity says this: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) I Timothy 2:5 says: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” No religion, no religious work or personal work, no matter how good you are or think you are, will make you right with God. Isaiah says: “all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.” (Isaiah 64:6) Titus 3:5 puts it this way:“Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us.” That’s right. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to heaven, PERIOD! “Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Jesus also said: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved” (John 10:9) SIN: THE HUMAN DISEASE The reason we need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is because of a human disease called SIN. Sin is inherent in the human race, because of an act of the first humans called Adam and Eve. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) The penalty for the human disease of sin is death. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) GOD’S REMEDY: JESUS Jesus Christ came to earth from heaven to pay the price for our sins and to give us the opportunity to live with Him forever in heaven. The work is finished. The provision for eternal life is in place. WHAT YOU MUST DO 1. Confess your sins to God: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9) 2. Repent of your sins: “Except you repent, you shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5) 3. Believe in Jesus Christ as sin’s remedy: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house.” (Acts 16:31) 4. Receive Jesus Christ: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12) These are 4 very important steps you must take to assure your eternal salvation. Eternity is a long time, and this is by far the MOST IMPORTANT decision you will ever make in your entire life! HOW TO KNOW JESUS If you want to personally know Jesus, have your sins forgiven and secure a place in heaven where you will live forever, pray this prayer and mean it with all of your heart: “Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I accept your blood sacrifice and ask you to forgive my sins and come into my heart. Help me to live according to your Word, guide me, protect me and preserve my soul until that appointment with you. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.” You will gain strength by praying (talking) to God, and reading your Bible on a daily basis. It is also important to fellowship with other believers, those who have also received Jesus Christ as Saviour. DO YOU KNOW JESUS? I John 5:13 says: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.” If you took these 4 steps, and received Jesus Christ into your heart, we would like to know about it.
